I received my monthly newsletter with info about various Japanese Disney sites today, so I thought I'd go through some of the more interesting news items for this month..

"Cars 2" News:
World Premiere and Perfume!
It seems that the latest in the Cars franchise is a huge hit in Japan after it's release on the 30th July. No doubt the fact that Japan features prominently in the movie is the secret to it's success! The newsletter gives a link to an article on the Disney.jp site about the World Premiere of the movie, which the popular Japanese pop trio, "Perfume" also attended. Perfume recorded the song "Polyrhythm" for the movie, which I love!! You can watch a few random movies of Perfume and of the Cars 2 characters here!

New Cars 2 Game for the DS!
The newsletter also talks about the new Cars 2 game for the Nintendo DS that will "expand" the Cars-world for players. The site for the new game is here if you're interested!
Disney's on CLASSIC: A Magical Night 2011 show News:
This show has been very popular in Japan! I remember seeing adverts about it in my Disney Fan Magazines on a monthly basis. It's a classic orchestra called the Tokyo Philiharmonic "Neverland Orchestra" and they play classic Disney songs and each new show seems to have a set-theme that includes songs from the corresponding movies.
A Dream Co-star Campaign!
The newsletter is talking about a new campaign they are having. It seems, from the website, that they will be offering the opportunity for some lucky people to perform alongside the Neverland Orchestra! They have chosen a song from the latest PotC movie (track 11 on this site) that the lucky chosen few will play alongside the orchestra. Sounds amazing, shame I can't play an instrument!
